Well that's easy to explain. Lights change before nutrient change so the plants life cycle and nutrients requirements can catch up.

To explain.

The reason I say don't change your nutrients when you change the light cycle is only because it does take the plant 7-10 day's to react to the light cycle change so it's still looking for balance from the veg cycle. Between the 5 & 7 day of 12/12 the axons are being formed and it's not a good idea to risk overfeeding the cycle. Let it use up some of its stored energy first left over from the veg cycle. Then you can use a flower booster to kick it into GO with out worrying if you are over feeding it.

Once you understand the little nuance of the life cycle of this plant its just common since. Of course there is light and environment that plays a huge roll as well but this is only about why you should wait before you switch to flower nutrients.
