Good job man! The strange taste is the infamous "peppery" tast of Jack Herer. I get that same thing from mine, but the high is well worth it. Jack like 70 days of flowering best. The range is 50-70, but I am at 64 and all of a sudden the buds started growing again. (I've been helping them too) Try to wait the fulll time if you can. Smoke is so expensive, that's why I chopped one of mine down early and let the second keep growing. Lookin' forward to your next log. =)

we harvested our plants at about the same trichome color/ration as you did, by the sounds of it! sucks how much the buds shrink when drying, huh. we only got 3 ounces off 4 plants, which was lower than expected but now we know what to expect! also, the plantz we just harvested are probably going to be the overall worst plants, as they were our first try at growing! im stoked to harvest the next ones!

Yeah I hope to find out what's in this strain soon! I'm going to meet the breeder. It's an unstable strain he's working on. Coincidently, I had some Jack today.

Yeah man I hear you on that one! I know that the next crop will be better. With Mercedes I think we'll have over an ounce for 2 plants, so that's pretty sweet! I go through about an ounce a week give or take 5g. I know we harvested too early for the bottom half of the plant, but it's ok because the top was perfect and we didn't want to harvest her in 2 halves. The guy at the grow shop told me that when you think they're ready wait another week, but he also said to wait till about 50% of the trichs turned amber! I just have to try one crop of a stable strain, harvested at various times to see what I like best.

Okay it's been a while since I took any pics, and man things have changed!

Mercedes has been flowering for 9 weeks today. She is almost completely yellow and about 1/3 of her pistils are turning red. She looks and smells so nice, it's great! Still no idea how long till she's ready to be chopped.

The 2 little girls that are flowering for my 4/20 harvest have been in bloom for 2 1/2 weeks now. They were a little heat stressed hanging so close to the light (slight paling and curling on edges and tips of leaves near the top), but they are now a little lower, and in bigger pots, and tonight they got their first bloom ferts.

Advanced Nutrients 3 part + carbo load, big bud, mother's earth tea, LK, thrive alive, phew I think that's all but probably not. Oh yeah Barricade too (silica) and I probably still forgot something! They got close to a full dose right away so I hope they're ok.

first pic is Wilma, next is Wendy. They are going to be so tiny. They're barely growing taller so they are going to be like popsicles! very fucking awesome popsicles!

I replaced the shitty 80mm computer fan in the veg cab with a 4" muffin fan for exhaust. I can't put holes in the cab till I get a circular drill or a saw of some sort, so for now the doors stay un-latched and air goes in the front. It works well and keeps the cab between 22 C (72 F) and 28 C (82 F), but usually right close to 25 C (77 F). Till it gets warmer outside that is! I'm dreading the summer if I don't move out of this apartment.

Jane is recovering from losing her fan leaves. They yellowed, browned, curled and died. She's starting to grow again just the past couple days. Oprah has exploded. bcchronic topped her a little while back and since then she was kind of growing free. He has nowhere to take her so he gave her to me. I tied her up and put her in a bigger pot a few days back. Veronica is growing sort of slowly, but she's still really dense so I am trying to get her to stretch out just a bit. She got a little burnt when they were fed 2 days ago.

They all got the AN 3-part stuff as well, some fish fert that smells awful and works great, and LK and thrive alive. I just went straight to nearly full strength, so that's why they're a little burnt. Even Oprah is a tad I think, but it could be an old CFL burn on a couple tips.

First pic is the whole veg cab. 2nd is Oprah, the bush! Then Veronica front left and Jane back right in the 3rd photo.

The last 2 pics are of some NL seedlings I recently started. They are 8 days old today. They went in the dirt last wed, and 2 sprouted that day. the last sprouted the following day. #1 is the one in the back, and is my favourite by far! It cracked and sprouted first and has just been the coolest. Also it's a bit lighter green, has no purple at all on the stem, and is so stout it hasn't even reached past the top of the pot yet! #2 and #3 are stretchier, have some purple on them, and are just a tad behind. They are all awesome though. I need to get a log for these babies, but till then I wanted to show them to you guys.

I re-LSTd Oprah because she was unwieldy, and shittily tied. It was a ton of fun, and she looks awesome now. The only thing is I was overzealous and broke a branch. I quickly cloned it, so I hope it roots because it's small. I didn't even notice until I put her back in the cab and took pics, so there's no empty space in these photos. I think the broken one is the one in front on the last pic though, it looks bent too far.

I had to construct a make-shift dome for one clone in the veg cab, so I've get chopsticks and saran wrap on the job. I think it'll work well enough.
