Hi masterjointsmith
I would put two small 3x3 or 4x4 computer fans in the top holes blowing out of the cab. Also two vents at the bottom of the cab one on each side with a third in the back of the cab in the middle top with a 6"fan pulling air out of the cab.I think the computer fans are 25cfm and the 6' fan is 180cfm.I got mind from surpluscenter.com they were under $35.00 for all three.I would put glass under the light about 3" or 4" to seal off alot of heat from the light.
It's a good plan with the cab.Well that's my two cents.

Yeah, seal the light from thgrow space. There are other threads that discuss the effects of the glass on the light, and it seems to be none or very minimal. Also, i have heard of others having good results controlling heat with the design.
Also, i'm sure you were planning on venting the light space up and out the two holes you will be making on the top of the cab. and maybe using the other 4 on the sides as passive.
That thing looks great. A friend just made one, here, here's the link:

My setup is geared more towards cloning and vegging so being light proof is not an issue but beyond that, I think the suggestions you've gotten are good ones. That light is going to be quite warm so separating with a piece of glass is a good idea. You will want some exhaust fans - I use two in mine: 110 cfm in the bottom which is on 18/6 when the T5 lamps are on and a 85cfm in the top which runs all the time, 24/7. The temps in my cabinet are within 3 or 4 degrees of the outside room with the lights on.
Intake can be passive and work fine. If you are going to flower in there, you will need to light proof it as well. Like Dusto2K3 said, there are many threads on here that successfully use HID lamps in cabs like this so you have all the info you need right at your fingertips.
Frankly if it were me doing it, I would use a cooltube ($60) and a 4" vortex fan ($100) and that would be the end of most heat problems (except radiant heat which fans don't help)
I think these are like $100 to $180 Dusto2K3 - I got mine from someone getting rid of theirs so I didn't have to pay for it.
Good Luck and happy growing!!
