help with my 1000 watt hps
hey, i currently have 3 plants growing under one flouresant tube, they are 3 weeks old today since i planted the germ'd seeds. there growing great and i have been slowly lsting them (and am continuing but cant continue lst'ing until i transplant to there final 4 gal pot, then it will be 2 more weeks of veg. i am going to flower these for 8 weeks under the 1000.
my problem is, in my grow room, with the heat complety off, and the 1000 hps on, i can only get my temp down as far as 83 degrees
i know 73 degrees is prime condition and thats what i keep it at so far, which why i think these plants are coming along so nice (on 5th node).
so whats a good way to bring the temp down? i have a pretty big circulating fan i was considering trying to have another fan bring in air from my other part of my house, which is cool (65 ish).

help with my 1000 watt hps
Hi Smoking Dope,
Are you growing inside your house? Does the heat from heating your house also heat your grow box?
Are you saying that your !000 watt bulb is heating the box to 83 degrees?
My first thought was some sort of air conditioner.
I am interested in this because I am going into a similar situation except mine is in a 4'X4' room in the garage which has no heat. I have a 1000 Watt bulb and and worried that it may get too cold when I am doing 18/6 hours, and the light is off.
I intend to follow this thread and see what you come up with. Any ideas for me is appreciated.
Keep posting. Pic?

help with my 1000 watt hps
hey there,
i am growing in a house yes, but in a room, not a cab.
i am cooling off the room as we speak so i can switch to the 1000 right now, i am going to try my method of using my other fan to blow cooler air in the room and have my circulating fan blowing air above the plants in the area of the hps to keep her cooler.
i have a digital themonitor, so i will let you guys know how it goes, im hoping i can get it at least below 80.
the problem is i sleep near the room and i dont have a door, so if im keeping the fan blowing air into the room, i am going to have to work something out, cause that light is SOOOO bright
