AD and KP are steering you in the right direction, but I would like to add:
when judging your light distance...place your hand at top of grow canopy...lower light until it is hot on your hand and you wouldn't leave it there...raise lights 2-3 inches and keep light at that distance from now on. you can get even closer if you have a fan dedicated to the airspace directly between the hood and the canopy.

never add nutes to seedlings...Never! wait until you have at least 4-5 alternating nodes and only use diluted formula's for a week; just to acclimate the plants. Nutrient Manufactureres have already figured out the right dosage values needed...So mix according to direction's. don't overfert...make sure that you water in between nutrients, especially in soil. Don't overwater.
In soil...you don't need to add nutes every single or sometimes at all except when plants show a need.

As far as lack of nutrients causing smallish growth in regards to these seedlings...I don't think so...the seedlings in post #1 were too immature for feeding. Plants look like they are not growing when theya re taking root. For some reason yours took awhile to root...Keep in mind that rooting sprouts is not considered vegging. veg starts when you have 4-5 alternating nodes and sprouts have become seedlings by rooting.

Your pots are perfect...looks like one gallon. I start my seeds right in similar pots when growing in soil. 2 weeks before flower...I transplant into 3 gallon pots...peace
Hi latewood- Thanks for all the great info! So vegging doesn't start until the 4 or 5 nodes? I sure didn't know that- I was counting from when their little heads broke soil! I guess the triplets have just started vegging then- and they should keep going until they are about 18 inches- I think that is what perp told me?
True confessions- although I haven't given them any nutes yet, I mixed a little regular planting mix that I didn't realize had ferts with their seed start mix when I moved them to their current pots, until I noticed a few little green pellets in the soil - I tried to pick them out at the time and thought that it wouldn't matter, but perhaps some of what I think is heat scorch is really nutes??? Bad mommy - anyway, with that in mind, maybe I should hold off on the Grow Big another week.

I have attached a picture of my current room- is this the best way to use the 600W? I'm a visual person and still cannot quite picture the layout you suggest, so bear with me.
I have also attached a picture of one of the girls on which I am trying a little technique- no strings, just gentle twisting so that the two top sets of leaves are lying on top of each other, so that the smaller ones below get light. I am not sure if it will work, but think it looks cool. I shoudl probably submit this under the forum of wacky techniques, but then again, my entire growlog maybe should be under that subforum...hee hee

The last picture is of my babytray- it's got PPP, DPSkunK#1 and 5 kinds of basil.
