Is LSTing worth it w/ a small stem?
My plant is about 16 inches tall, and i started training it. It is already flowering (has been under 12/12 from the start).
The stem of the plant is fairly THIN, is it okay that I'm training it? All the branches that will eventually have buds on it seem to be going in the right direction (straight up, instead of growing out and getting blocked by light)
How much will the stem thicken in the last 4 weeks of flowering?
IF the bud piles on, will the stem even be able to support it?xblackdogx Reviewed by xblackdogx on . Is LSTing worth it w/ a small stem? My plant is about 16 inches tall, and i started training it. Well, why did you have it on 12/12 from the start? That might be why it has thin steams.
You could put a fan on it to try to thicken it up.
I have no idea how much your steam will thick. It will probably keep growing at the same rate.

LSTing is probably a great idea, at least from what I have learned from my grow. The plants that have been majorly (aggressively) LSTd have the thickest stems. So Lsting them will probably thicken up the stems for you. Try that out and you should probably see results pretty quick.

how old is it? I honestly don't even know what the life cycle of an only flowering plant would be. I wouldn't expect too much from it. Although most of the growth occurs during the flowering, the micro growth which is primarily vegitative, is king of what boosts the plant up and gets it ready to mature. I woudn't expect much. Why not revert it back to veg, let it beef up, and then flower it.

Often plants that have been flowered too young do not have the stem strength or structure to support big buds - branches fall over, split & break off, etc. You may want to get some supports in there or something to tie the branches up to and give them support. Good Luck.

keep lst'ing but tie a couple sticks to the sides of the pot so you can tie stings to them to support the stems when the buds start to get heavy.

Is LSTing worth it w/ a small stem?
hey guys, thanks for the responses...
the little guy is about 1 ft tall, node just appearing, some with pistils (at very top) ... i have it LSTed, so the secondary growth is growing straight up toward the light, and not horizontal. stem is weak,
secondary growth will probably be weird, i'm probably going to harvest it by eye, doing parts of the plant at a time, and letting additional growth (but this is all speculation, hopefully if the stem and secondary branches grow strong enough i will have alot of tiny colas
