Too much light? Is it ever OVERKILL?

Usually. 99.9% of the time, this is the case.

BUT!

I have personally seen an example of a plant receiving "too much light"(?). Guy had a single plant under a 1000W HPS in a small room, mylared to hell, and it "bleached". So much light that chlorophyl production was severely retarded(?), and plant looked pale yellow - straw coloured - in normal light. Still grew and yielded, but not much.

There may have been other factors involved, but when I saw it, temp & humidity were OK, and everything else looked OK.

So yes, I believe it's possible to have too much light.

Of course if you have soo much light in such a little room it may cause problems but think about it. The sun is way more intense than a 1000w light bulb but the plants are out in the open and that allows that plant to receive as much light as needed. If your conditions are right there can never be a such thing as too much light.
