    Flourescent lighting Question??????

Currently I have a 24" x 55" x 60" grow closet. I have coated all the wall's with foil and installed a 80fpm fart fan in the cieling to keep the temps down.
I have 10 4' flourescent bulbs inside most being 32w daylight deluxe T8's mounted vertically to the walls. Tempatures are running at about 75-80 degrees. Will this be enough to get a good grow? Current I belice a have 350watts of Flourescents running....... Without the vent fan the temps were up to 110 degress at the cieling.......

Ummm... I'm assuming the flouros are spaced evenly around the interior. I think you're going to need more lights, or concentrate the light/grow on one side. Because thats over 8 sq. ft of area. 350W of flouro is enough for about 3.5 sq. ft.

While the "rule of thumb" for HPS & MH is 50W/sq ft, the rule for flouros should be 100W/sq ft.

I would say it will be good enough .... you have to keep the lights close to the tops .... like 2- 4 inches away.

I would highly recommend using something else than foil .... have you tried the poor person's answer to mylar? .... you are in luck because there is plenty of mylar gift wrap on sale now. I would get that .... the silver one .... and use that instead of the foil .... I heard foil caused heat problems .... but if you just can't get the mylar gift wrap .... ($3 at wal-mart here in us) make sure you use the dull side of the foil.

    Good luck.:rastasmoke:

    Flourescent lighting Question??????

Yes all bulbs about 12" apart and space evenly all around the closet. The Lumens accourding to the package the bulbs came in read 2,900 per bulb at 6500k color... with 10 bulbs I was thinking I had around 29,000 lumens. The "Hold All" light meter in the middle of the room reads around 500 Lumens.

2000L / sq. ft is the lower limit for plant life. You'll end up with tall spindly things that won't support their own weight at that level.

If you have to stick with what you have, I'd recommend clustering them in one area, maybe one corner, and then rotating the plant 1/4 turn 3x daily.
