Strains to Train/Refrain in the Main Domain
I'm planning my first plot while I wait for beans. Or is is plotting my first plan. I forget. I have more room to grow than I will ever use for my modest personal needs. Lighting will likely be a combination of MH/HPS, maybe as much as 600 W MH and 1 kW HPS. May be more modest, too. Planning to grow in soil, too.
For my first grow or two, I'd like to try LST on a couple of plants while I'm growing some more of the same strain with just some topping (FIM). I've been reading that some strains are well-suited to training and others are not. I haven't been able to find anything more specific about which strains are better or worse, though. I haven't found this information in any of the descriptions of the dozen or so seedbanks whose sights I've visited, either. If the information isn't readily available, I'll do a search on each strain individually and see what I can find that way.
Or is this just not that big a deal? I have been known to construct epic ranges of geologic formations from the tunneling mounds of small, burrowing rodents from time to time. It's hard not to over-think everything when I have to wait so long for seeds before I can get started. But I digress. Here's what I'm thinking for strains:
First grow, (or two if needed): Bagseed.
Next grow or two: NL #5, Easy Bud, Maple Leaf indica or something else that's easy.
Strains I'm considering for further down the road, once I know what I'm doing:
--Afghan Dreams
--Afghan #1
--Hindu Kush
--Hash Plant
--Sweet Tooth
--Dynamite
--Skunk #1
--Euforia
--AK-47
--C99-based indoor strain
--K2
--Ice
--Gspot/G13
--White Widow
--Some sort of Blueberry
Thanks for the help.

Yeah it seems to me you need to do a LOT more planning, lol. But planning things is half the fun!!!

Here's a strain guide that should hopefully help you research the seeds. www.hanflexikon.de
I believe its the overgrow strain guide that someone has recovered.
Good call on the easybud as a learner grow. My first grow is very close to harvest (a few weeks) and the grow was, for the most part, not very problematic. I didn't top or lst or anything though but looks like I'll get a decent reward for my efforts

grrreat guide zoid! going straight to my bookmarks...
th, i like your style babeblueberry is a pretty easy accomplishment for first timers with basic knowledge and understanding. i have grown dp bb for one grow and am now starting the perpetual clone cycle. before this, i'd only grown outdoors, very low maintenance... blueberry and trainwreck were my first indoor ventures. picky at weeks two of veg and 6 of flower, other than that, they take alot of abuse without probs...
hope that is interesting for you, your thread name caught my eye and i figured i stop by. hope you're as high as i am right now, and a merry x-mas to youcheck out kps haphazzard grow log/lounge/lecture/study sometime...

Thanks! Blueberry intrigues me; I've never tasted it so have no idea what to expect. It sounds cool, though. I'm having to scale back my grow-room plans, so I'm even more interested in LST than ever before.
Yeppers. My stoner enjoyment meter is pegged over here right now. Very nice stuff though I haven't a clue what strain it is. It's scrum-dillie-icious.

Peace, Baby.

the bite is stronger than the bark, blueberry aftertaste, though the smoke is somewhat acrid and chemicalish, with a sweet berry undertone... still curing though...
