    9/10th of a cent/oil industries

this is something that has made no sence to me.

how can gas companies charge 9/10ths of a penny?
gas prices are around $2.709 now, this really annoys me because i feel like thes companies are trying to pull some trick on us.

anyone know why/how they can charge something that DOES NOT EXIST???

because they can't charge 2.71 cents without being higher than the compition, and they won't round down.

So if you buy gallons your payment is 27.90, which gives them cents more.

if you bought callons, you would pay 25.30 They always round up, never down.

They do it because we are unable to pay 9/10th of a cent, and theres no way of giving us the change from a full cent, and it makes the price appear lower. So basically they win 3 times.
