I've been snowboarding for a few years, I got a season pass one year and now im a fucking pro snowboarder.

Its kind of an old person sport (skiing) or a rich kid sport (snowboarding).

I'm neither but i still manage to go about once a year or once every other year.

I have a ton of stories. How about the biggest wipeout:

It was probably mid-march and it hadn't snowed for a while, so everything was icy and there weren't very many people up on the mountain.

The top was in a very thick storm but it was high enough where you would break out of the cloud before you got to the lift line. Well I was with my cousin and my uncle. My cousin was pretty far ahead of me, and she's the slow one who's still learning out of the 3 of us. So i figure i'll fly down as fast as i can out of this cloud and zip right by her and scare her. So I start picking up speed, zipping around corners and even trying a few small jumps.

So by this point i've built up alot of confidence and when i caught up to her she was almost to the lift line right below a second nick named 'water fall'.

Well usually waterfall is scary but not too bad. That day however it was spotted with ice and there was no fresh powder it was all packed powder and ice and dry patches. So I started off slow, just paper falling down the steep part, but about half way down my cousin still hadn't noticed me so I flipped my tail to the peak and crouched to gain speed. I was going about 40mph (im not a good judge of speed but it felt like i was in a convertible car going down a freeway) and I managed to zip right behind her, i sprayed her with snow as hard as i could from behind and then whipped around side of her missing her by only inches, my board actually caught her board and threw me off balance and in the split after i lost my balance i turned to slow down (heel to the peak) it seemed like i was gonna be fine but if you know how to snowboard you know what its like to catch an edge. Well I caught an edge at maybe 30mph, did the worst face plant ive EVER done, on ice and rocks, started to tumble down the hill because of my momentum and i couldn't stop because it was all hard packed snow and ice,i probably did about 15 head over heels. By the time i finally stopped, by using my snowboards edge to scrape the ice for friction, my face was soaked with blood, scratches everywhere and i felt like i went 10 rounds with the abominable snowman. And to top it off my cousin came right up next to me laughing her head off to the point that she was in tears (she was crying more than i was).

So i spent half the day in the truck and i actually went back for one final run at the very end, but didn't do anything spectacular, i felt as stiff as a board and my face stung like no other.

ahhh good times.
