a plant from seed isnt any better than a clone in my opinion. bringing up a point about the leaves, stems and buds are bigger from seed this isnt true, while indoors a plant from seed will usually of been in veg for longer than a clone has been since it was rooted, which may affect leave and stem size but give them equal veg time and you shouldnt be able to tell any difference between a clone or a plant from seed.
there is nothing wrong with using seed besides the disadvantages mentioned above you may go through lots of seeds before you find a mother plant that you really like and even when you do find one you will probably always be starting more seeds looking for something better or might just want a little bit more variety and you may end up with several mother plants, but using clones has way to many advantages to ignore and will always be the preffered method by the majority of growers.

Yes it is definitely the more effecient way all in all...just not sure what I want to do....the thought of limiting types I grow seems like a bummer...and spacewise it is so tight around here already....have to weigh pros and cons I guess. Xcrispi and I were talking about how much we like the whole growing experience--it's half the fun watching those little guys start up and grow from a little teeny seed....agggggg DECISIONS!

No need to limit yourself to one or the other. I have used clones and also start a bunch of seeds every now and then.

X I think we crossed in the mail....just went to the other thread....those blueberry things sure look sweet....and tall....and healthy.....I have only grown two different strains that i bought from seed companies..Bubblegum and Haze....haze took FOREVER and then finally hermied when the weather turned and the BG was an easy grow but I personally was not overly impressed with the high although I did grow it outside and I'm not good at that....I am trying one BG this time in the mix in hydro....and pray it's not a male.....mostly I have grown from bagseed; perhaps three or four different types....my favorite is this russian thing (called blue russian by the guy who sold it to me) that is wonderful......easiest grow ever and the high is kick ass.....I have a few extra seeds if you'd like to try it......great yield but uncertain background I'd breed it if I thought I could do it correctly but I'll just screw it up so.....

That's what most people say.... but from eye witness accounts.. LOL.. there is a distinct difference from seed and clone.. Plants grown from seed have a certain robust quality that clones do not get... well... maybe they do eventually but not with 4 weeks or less of Vegging... Maybe if the clone were put outside and grown for 8 weeks....

    cheers

Knowm even if I knew what that avatar was I wouldn't admit it. Reviewing your libraray.....come on you have the wall sized posters hanging in the bedroom.

Well as i was writing the last line of my last post I realized that all you peoples talk about clones is correct....I do want to preserve my russian thing which I love and cloning would certainly be the way to go with it. AND do my seeds for variety. I love this forum and all the great info that springs from it. Thanks all!
