SEEDS VS CLONES
When grown under the same conditions, plants from seed are more vigorous, hardier, grow bigger (stems, leaves, and buds), and generally are healthier than clones.

imo if you want to grow real top shelf headies, you must clone. you don't know how a plant grows the 1st time you flower it...
my point is to get the best pot you should grow out as many seeds as your space/lighting allows, in my case about 20. label all your plants, toss the males and flower the girls. so you get about 10 females from the 20 seeds. take clones of each one and label them. flower the seed plants and after sampling bud from each and pic the best 5 plants and flower those clones. make sure you get more cuts from each before flowering. flower these 5 clones a few times until yyou get a good idea of which is your favorite and make that your mother. from now on every clone from that mother will produce the bud you liked best!!!!doing it this way, you start with 20 plants of the same strain and end up with the best possible represntation of the strain of the 20. see my point if you grow from seed every time this would not be possible. well those are my thoughts on cloning.

I agree Mr. SEED.... YET, no clone every grows with the qualities of a plant started from seed.... seeds are special in their own right..

yes, knowm you are correct about seed plants being "better"but i think the advantages of clones outway that fact. just my opinion but it is from experience. i grow scrog and clone scrogs are much better imo. if you have more than 1 seed plant under the same screen, they grow/flower at different rates and can finish as much as a week apart which would cause you some problems. clones on the other hand will grow and finish at the same rate, much easier to deal with.

SEEDS VS CLONES
I personally prefer clones over seeds .... now you are right about the seed plants they are bigger and stronger, but I hate having to go through the process of sexing the plant.
I know I have to do it if I want to try new strains, but I do prefer cloning .... I know it's a girl .... I know what it's like ... I do the perpetual harvest thang and you must clone in order to do it. My ladies are less than 2 ft so you have to have several plants to get a good yield.
At one time I had 10 different strains at once .... but I weeded them down to two strain that were my absolute favorite .... Electric Blue ... and Northern Lights ...
Now I've got 8 new strains started from seeds .... still going through the sexing process with a couple of strains, but the same will happen I will weed out until I find my absolute favorites then I will do nothing but clone.
It was serveral years between my last seed grow and this one. Yeah .... I like cloning better.
I guess it all depends on the indivdual. :rastasmoke:

Appreciate all the replies! I said something about seeds to my hydro guy and he looked at me like I was nut....you're still using seeds??? Everytime???
I like the idea of hardy plants....and variety.....but we ARE in the 21st century....aggggg....this may be a stupid question but anyone keep their mothers in hydro or does everyone use soil?Haze(y) Grow Log:

i have kept bonzia mums in 5.5inch square pots with promix bx for over 18months without problem. i do prune the roots every 6 months or so, that's why i use the square pots. never any issues as long as you take cuts every 2 weeks even if they are not needed.
