does this ww look odd? i didnt top it.. but its split

It came up around thanksgiving.. first plant to get this big so i dont know what to expect... but i assumed there would be one main branch, and this one has two. I wanted to take a clone to determine sex, but since there are two branches i guess i have to wait longer since the growth on each branch is pretty small

any idea what could of caused this, or am i just crazy and its normal
its in an aero system with a 400w MH... sorry for the crappy pics, my camera doesnt like the MH light

Don't know what exactly causes it but it happens sometimes. I wouldn't worry about it.

    Good luck with your grow.

wow that seed plant looks more like a clone! it looks fine though so i wouldn't worry. i find that seedlings seem to have fatter stems and bigger fanleaves than clones of the same size. just an observation.

I agree. Seeds are always more vigorous, bigger, yield more than clones. I don't do many grows with clones, mostly seeds.

I never heard that about clones...the yield is not as good per plant? Why do you prefer seeds perp; any other reason besides the yield? Noty, that plant is a trip. It does look like you topped it, lol.

clones are faster than always doing seed grows. you also get used to how a plant grows if you always use clones. don't forget clones will all be female. with seeds you gotta grow twice as many as you want to make up for the males you will get. growing with clones has it's advantages and disadvantages as does growing with seeds.

so how much longer till its big enough to cut a clone? until the "side shoots" are long enough to have multiple sets of flowers?

i just want to flower a clone so i know if i'm wasting my tmie with a male..

also, does this means clones from this plant will grow the same way?

thanks for everyones continued help.. especially weedhound who at this point probably just reads my threads for entertainment :rasta:

Ideally you want to wait until a plant has secondary growth before you clone.

    cheers

BUT you could clone it NOW...

by secondary growth you mean more than one set of flowers per "offshoot"?

if i try now the odds of it surviving are just smaller?

I'm going to give it at least 3 or 4 days, be gone for the holidays until then anyway.

THen i'll post a high quality picture and see what you guys think

ya i had a clone that split into three main stems at the bottom like that. if anything, i would say that it would increase yield because u would be able to manipulate it easier so that the whole plant would get more light. like tie each branch down a bit, away from one another.
