Use a torch lighter. The first time I used a regular lighter and it wasn't near as good as a torch lighter. Later I found that salvia has to be completely vaporized unlike MJ, so you have to hold the flame on it throughout the whole inhale. Torch lighters are nice for MJ too, but don't ever use one with a small hand-pipe. Ow!
