Kick-ass new job!!
So I was sitting around the other day when my phone rings. I picked up and my friend told me that the company he works for is looking for a new driver and he wanted to know if I was interested. I've been out of work for a few months now, and before that I was working in retail, so I was happy for something different to come along.
I went to ride with him for the day to see what his job was all about and find out if it was still something I was going to be interested in.
If I was happy before riding with him, I'm fucking ecstatic now. I'm gonna be driving a box truck droping off seamless gutter supplies to various job sites. Don't even have to install a damn thing.
Not only do I not have to work in retail anymore, (and heres the kicker that has pretty much had me dancing for the past two days) this job is gonna pay me more than TWICE what I have ever made in reatail PLUS a commission check at the end of the month!
Hello nice car! How do you thank someone for basically handing you the best job you have ever had in your entire life? I mean beside the obvious. Kick-ass new job!!
I just hope for your sake that that's not a job that you need a CDL for, because if so you will be subject to random drug screens.

Congrats on the new job man. I would make sure they are not going to ask you to pee in a bottle. Every job that I have ever worked that had drivers always made them take the piss test. Oh and I know this is obvious but if you get into an accident on company time that is usually a mandatory piss test where you have no time to prepare if you know what I mean. Best wishes to you!

Actually my boss was very up front about the drug testing. He told me there would be no pre-employment screening, because it is not actually a CDL that I need, just a certificate that says I'm physically able to be driving a truck. And that if there is an accident there is a chance the DOT will drug test on the spot, but that would only occur if it were a major accident that was my fault.
