Help me grow outdoors my first time!!

    Hola everyone!!

I've grown indoors for 3X's and i enjoy it, though, i'm not happy with the yields and the electric costs. Now i have acesss to a good vehicle and want to plant outdoors- guerilla style. I'd like to plant in two different spots. I won't be able to regularly care for any plants.

    My questions are:

Is it better to start with seedlings than planting? For seedlings, what size is best to plant at? What do i grow seedlings in? I tried peatpots and wasn't 100% satisfied. When i've grown indoors i'd sew the cracked seed sprout straight into potting soil of a plastic pot. For outdoors i'd like to plant directly without transplanting and disturbing the roots.

I'm going to be planting in the Mid-Atlantic region of America, not far north of the Mason-Dixon line. I will be able to attend the plants only once every few months, if at all. I won't be able to prep the soil much, maybe adding potting soil to the holes, and ,not likely, to add water expanding crystals. I defintely won't water. I know the soil here must be fertile, due to the abundance of trees and weeds. The rain comes, not necessarily every week butt, at least once or twice a month. What can i do that is not costly or timely to ensure the plants survive?

I want to grow 10-20 all female plants. Is that number enough for a year's yield?

I want to plant other seedling, like for berry and fruit trees, any opinions if it's best to plant those in the area with the mary jane's or entirely seperate?

Lastly, I'm only going to work to plant on nights of the full moon. I read planting on full moon' is excellent and i also have better access to a vehicle. I'm going to wear a headset flashlight. Any onpinions please!!

I would never ever plant my seeds at night with fucking flaslight on my head:smokin:
anyone who sees you will think something strange is going on there if there isnt any mines near by:stoned: anyways i would suggest you plant at day time ,its 100 times more safer and easyer coz if someone sees you walking around they wont be so terrified . I have been growing plants outside for 2 summers and i think that it is impossibile to grow if you have no more time than once a month to check your plants especially when u have just planted them

    Yeah gasgan is right.
Rule #1: DON'T ACT SUSPICIOUS!!! Go out in daylight and take your dog because he needs a walk in the woods!
And you need to visit your plants much more often especially if you start from a seed or even a very small plant... you can't grow a vegetable garden without weeding it regularly... you need to take care of your plants.

maybe those little seedling trays... the ones that are atached to each other.. they would be easier to move.. only problem with those are they are hard to transplant from, so you would have to cut them seperatly to transplant..

I usualy put my seedlings outside when they have 5-6 nodes on them..

there is nothing wrong with going at night especially to place out your plants there is alot of excuses you can use for being out there otherwise, but its kinda hard not to look suspicious carrying 10 -20 plants that may be 6 to 12 inches tall, personally wouldnt use a light no more than you had to, if its in a very populated area.
ideally you should start them indoors and use a seedling tray or you can start them in plastic or styrofoam cups after poking a few holes in them for drainage either would work fine and should be easy to pop out and transplant in your grow spot and you may want to place clones out instead of seedlings seeing how you are familiar with growing indoors and most definatly the way to go if you are going to buy seeds.
if you cannot go back very often would atleast use some water crystals in the soil to help the plant make it through the drier times it is a weed and can often survive with just rainfall alone but it will not grow as good as a plant that is taken care of and your yield will probably suffer, as mentioned above by stinky you should go back to weed until your plants get established local weeds will often smother out your plants if you dont go back every couple of weeks until they get large enough it is no longer a concern would plan on making atleast 2 to 3 visits just to weed in the first 6 weeks of putting your plants outside.
as per yield it can vary so much if a plant is not given ideal conditions wouldnt even attempt to guess.
not to mention that so many things can happen to the plants outdoors from mother nature, animals, theft, found by leo, etc would plan on planting 3 times more plants than what you want to harvest and space them out a little dont put a bunch of plants in one spot.

    Thanks a bunch bejay!

I'm definetly gona weed the first couple months. I will try to plant the crystals too.

I never cloned before is it difficult? How old does the mother plant need to be before cloning? Will they all be female from a female plant?

I am gona do the night time planting. I'll only use a flashlight for actual digging and planting + use the moonlight.

no its not difficult just read up on it and get some rooting gel or powder and keep it simple with a seedling tray with dome you have plenty of time.
yes they will all be female from a female plant so usually wait until they show sex before even taking clones wich is usually 4-8 weeks old and you wont be able to take alot of clones from that age of plant without completly killing it, but you will be able to get 4-5 without a problem and as the plant gets bigger you will be able to take more clones from it at a time, if you dont have any indoor plants now that you can use for this spring for taking clones then would plan on starting some soon like in january so you have time to veg it long enough to show sex and root cuttings.
