I agree.. It would bring the maturity of this forum up a little too..

Now this I don't agree with, I've older members who are extremely immature and some minors on here that are more mature, their age doesn't always affect maturity.

The problem is there's no way of enforcing an age restriction or having accurate confirmation of ages, Yeag. And considering that this is an American-based forum and that in America and many other countries, cannabis is illegal for everyone no matter what age, it seems silly to try and set an arbitrary age limit. Besides, I see evidence every single day that some of our younger members are more mature, courteous and attentive to the rules than some of the ones who are past 18 or 21.

As far as buying power or ability to support advertisers is concerned, the 14-18 demographic represents more buying power than you might think. They often do have purchasing power, and if they don't, they soon will. The ones who can't yet buy with credit or debit cards still retain the ability to influence others who can. Plus they have more technical savvy--and spend more online time--than the older demographic groups do. So they soak in more of the advertising messages.

I think it is good the minors are here. I wish I had found this site when I was a teenager and thinking about trying cannabis for the first time. There are a lot intelligent and mature minors here as well as a few this site would benifit from losing. As someone else said, BirdGirl, I think? Cannabis is illegal to everyone, not just minors in most areas. Kids shouldn't smoke weed, but they do and they will continue to. May as well allow them to find a place with people who are fellow smokers.

I will say thought that I think this place would be safer if there were a way to make it 18 plus site. Perhaps even if it was written into the rules and there was a porn type yes I'm over 18 option. It seems to be enough to protect the porn sites from legal action when kids still figure out how to click that little link.

I do agree it may not be the best to cater to minors. Maybe it would be best to put up some little half ass detection system that everone knows don't work. But if any trouble came this way, the owner could go. Look it's 18 plus site, I can't help if the kid lied about his age.

I'm rambling and don't know if this even makes sense.

Hey man, some of us minors just enjoy the company of fellow smokers, and in my case, are looking to find new ways to experience things. Just because some of us teenagers are lazy, unproductive, and just all around assholes doesn't mean all of us are. As it was stated earlier there are alot of people over 18 more immature than some minors.
