It could be a number of things. It could be insufficient lighting that result in low yeilds and light, wispy buds, or it could be the soil and nutrients your are using. How are you drying your buds? Buds should dry naturally and on their own. If you are impatient and super dry your buds using an over, or dehydrater, then yes, your buds will come out nasty.

Are you flushing the soil when harvest time nears? If not, do so. Not flushing will give the buds a harsh smoke and the buds will snap and crackle when burned.

Are you letting the plants finish growing? Harvesting too early will give the buds a green taste, low potency, and no kick when smoked. Harvesting too late and the THC starts to break down.

So it could be a lot of things. Only cure when buds are 85-90% dry. Not fully dry buds put in curing can result in mold.
