I tend to be the same way. I'm absent-minded, and it's getting worse as I get older. Also, if I'm concentrating on other stuff, I can be very distracted and not remember what I'm doing or where I've put stuff. Also, I know I have a touch of ADHD. I've never taken meds for it and it doesn't interfere with most other areas of my functioning, but it makes it hard for me to remember things because my focus isn't always fully on what I'm doing. I'm often aware of being distracted, and I often put things away and later don't remember what I did with them. And unless I write things down, there's no guarantee I'll remember what people tell me. I've had to develop alternative methods of keeping organized and keeping notes and lists to help me focus better and stay more organized. I'm not a drinker or a drug user and don't take any meds. I'm just a space cadet. Welcome to the club!
