So, after they went through my van...they took 2 of my bongs, a glass bulb and my 420 hat along with my leather jacket.

If im not mistaken...they cant take my hat and jacket!

Im thinking of sueing....unless they consider that drug para...which they dont. Or drug related, which it is...n't...just a nice number and pretty plants on it...lmao, i dont understand.

I was thinking of going to the sheriffs department today and telling them I want my shit back.

cheeched i thought you were in minnesota, if so how are you going to let these cops punk you like that? My friends got caught smoking in his car while it was parked on the street and all the cops took was everybodys own stash, and he told the driver of the car he probably shouldn't have all those pipes in his car. You had better go there and get you stuff back, at least the hat and jacket tell them its about to get real cold and if they don't give it back to your your going to freeze your ass off.

You can sue them, but after the attorney fees and stress you'll lose more than you gain. I would contact internal affairs and file a complaint.

The problem is, if the bongs have residue on them, they ARE paraphenalia. Now, they can do more then just confiscate paraphinalia if you have it on you. They can fine you or even jail you. They had no right to take your hat and jacket, but if they didn't punish you any more then jacking your stuff, I'd be grateful. I understand its the principle of the matter, but 'the man' has the upper hand.

If you do with you press charges or file a complaint, you better do it soon though. Im sure the statute of limitations on such matters are relatively short.
