this is a gross and, as previously stated, a paranoid way to be thinking about things. Why is it that a grown man can't spend any time with a younger man without raising suspicions of being a pedophile.

I think that when im older it would be very enriching and enlightening to have a younger friend. because you can stay in touch with youth and keep track of the younger generation which is essentially our future.

I happen to believe that everything is a conspiricy, and in this case the media and "them" are trying to seperate kids from adults because children need a role model, they base their actions on examples they are presented with.

now why would this be benifical to "them"??

well because "they" can use media outlets to present these role models to our younger generation without any interference from the older generation. they use these role models to implant things in our kids, broad social trends and increased consumerism; as well as systematically eradicating any interest in the things that really matter.

so with the government, the media and "them" all throwing out the decoy and model and putting on a mask of simplicity we find that our way of life is corrupted and twisted to benifit "them".

Hmmm. Let's see. You're the one who says you believe everything's a conspiracy, and I'm the one who's paranoid?

I'll own up to being an overprotective mother. I'm also a former teacher. And a former reporter. And a volunteer in a women's and children's shelter. In case you didn't know it (and I gather you don't), pedophiles are everywhere. One out of four kids is molested in some way. Actually, the rate's probably higher. That's just what's reported. And so it's not an unfounded concern. Where I live, it's soccer coaches. Scout leaders. Priests. And uncles and family friends who make the news every day. And these are the people who cross the lines with boys and young men. Girls and young women are victimized by so many more people that those stories rarely make the news unless they're very heinous crimes.

I do think that adults and teenagers can have enriching, beneficial relationships. Don't get me wrong. But I will always have concerns when an older individual goes out of his way to solicit or court the interest of a younger person until those suspicions are proven unjustified, particularly where drugs and/or alcohol are involved and where it's likely to be a one-on-one situation. Most informed, responsible adults would agree with me.

Do some reading about the problem of sexual abuse of youngsters and adolescents, why don't you? Then later, when you're a parent, you can determine whether my fears and concerns are unwarranted. Mine are based on real information and occurrences. Not just on a single news story.

This old dude is an avid traveler and constantly needs his house watched through out the year. So naturally he meets teenager neighbor kid (me) and asks me if I'm up for the task. Sure I say and 3 years pass and were pretty cool and I've been watching his house.
