Your son and the other young folks over there are all heroes in my book, too. Much love to them all--and to all the loving parents who're enduring it. I want them all home, too.

I have a 20-year-old son, BlueCat. He's in college at the moment. (He's on holiday break, but that's where he normally is.) But he has friends and former high school classmates who're in Iraq and Afghanistan. I have two cousins who're there. Did you see the CNN special last week called "Combat Hospital"? It was fascinating. The work the medics do is just amazing. One of our other members, Dutch Pimp, was a comat medic in Vietnam. I'm a former fire department paramedic and now a med student, but what combat medics do is so far above what we did that it's just incredible. Anyway, my love and best wishes to your son--and to everyone else who's enduring this awful war.
