Running smokers?
I used to run everyday high- it was great! Music, weed, and movement are very nice together.
liberiamom Reviewed by liberiamom on . Running smokers? Every time I try to do a search for something I honestly keep forgetting most of the replies with certain situations and activities and smokers refer to "cigarette" or "tobacco" smokers. So I can't really find any accurate information so I'm gonna ask here. If I jog or run daily could it help keep my lungs healthy even being a cannabis smoker? I mean of course now I know it couldn't hurt but I'm wondering if there are any real benefits that could come from running or would it be pointless since Rating: 5

I've read that even though there is heavy tar in marijuana smoke, it doesn't create a significant decline in respiratory function, even with regular use. I can vouche for this in that I cannot run for jack shit if I'm currently smoking cigarettes..but in the times that I have quit smoking cigarettes and remained smoking marijuana, I had no problems whatsoever with breathing difficulty after running/physical activity. On a separate note, I've read several different things about the way marijuana's beneficial for asthma patients because of the small tiny tiny airways inside your lungs that something from it opens..and in fact smoke before I go skateboarding because of the way that it enables me to not tire quickly and keep my breath up without having to breathe heavily and all crazy. Marijuana is one of the most mysterious things..in the way that it affects us without bringing risks to our health and without adverse side effects. :stoned:

I have always hiked and exersized and it has always made me feel better physically and mentally. There is nothing better than exersize, except water.

I regularly do pretty intense weight-training sessions, like 4 sets of 10 reps on the bench press with 30 second rest periods between sets. At the end I'm sucking wind like I just finished a 5k. Then on to the next exercise--same rep/set scheme, and my workouts are usually 60 minutes long.
Anyway I've find that smoking pot everyday does nothing to reduce my performance in the gym. I was jogging for awhile and noticed no change. When I was in high school I ran track, and my friend & I were at about the same fitness level, meaning we were neck & neck on a lot of races. He started smoking pot, I did not. It was around that time that he actually started pulling ahead of me cardiovascularly, and I was pissed because he was getting faster AND smoking pot. Coincidence? I don't know...

in a way it's true. after I smoke then exercise, I'm definitely not as outright stoned as I would have been had I not exercised, but it's a unique sensation that I believe is more relishable than the cannabis high alone. it's comparable to having a beer in a jacuzzi

Life is too entertaining for higher powers not to be watching closely.
A rule really only needs to be followed by those who do not know why it is a rule.

Just because you smoke pot doesn't mean you can't stay fit and maintain cardiovascular health. It may be a bit tougher as a potsmoker to run, but it's still very doable, as compared to cigarette smokers having a very hard time running (Still doable for them, but less so.).
