    screw nature. heh.

U just said screw nature? Thats like asking your plants to die. Because nature is everywere your plant its in nature. Your whole indoor grow is in nature and the fact that u came along to plant this plant in ideal conditions is nature .. human nature but nature none the less.

chaning a hps for the sun? why dont you just use a hps and an mh light on the same grow?

is there a light that does replicate every aspect of the sun without the fact that its bazillion miles away and is wayyy hot?

i've read that 1-2 lumen per sq foot is ok during light period.
As well you can have green lights on during the dark cycle. As the plants dnot react to green light

MH + HPS don't = Sun. The sun also puts out UV light (and a lot of other wavelengths not covered by hps or mh), which has been shown to increase THC content. Apparently pot reacts to UV light kinda the way our skin does, except with more THC instead of more pigment(tanning in humans).

Regardless of the nature discussion, I'll admit that a little light during the dark cycle won't hurt your plants, but I don't see it helping them either. You're also risking stressing your plants by throwing off the photoperiod if you give them too much light(no, i have no clue where the cut-off line for too much light is), resulting hermpahroditism or a plant trying to revert back to vegetative growth. I say play it safe, keep light to a minimum during your dark cycle.

Btw, I'm not trying to hate on your theory, I'm just trying to keep you from accidentally stressing your babes. Good luck on anything you wish to try and experiment with man, and be sure to let us know of the results. You could set up two flower chambers, and try partial light during the dark cyle in one and complete darkness on the others and compare yields. Best way to check would be to use clones so you have the exact same plant for both rooms.
