I listen to some fairly heavy music.. but im not sure if its death metal.. what bands are you talkin about?..

I would be a fan of death metal. To be honest, I think it's been a little stale in recent years, hyperblast all day, Erik Rutan-produced DM. Still though, I do like Nile, Dying Fetus and more grindy bands like Nasum and Pig Destroyer. Still though, my favourites of the genre are the classics - Entombed, Cannibal Corpse, Death, Morbid Angel, Deicide. All bands are DM and they all have their own sound. That's not really the case anymore!

I love goregrind and just plain ole death metal. Deicide, Cannibal Corpse, Six Feet Under, Disconformity, Death, Obituary, Eternal Hate. Its all good in the hood =D

Gorerotted are very good. As far as death goes, I love Death and Obituary. Although i think at this stage I've come to the conclusion that i prefer Thrash <3.

I love Opeth, if you count that (you know, with the whole Death metal/folk music mix).

I'm much more into heavy/power/progressive metal than death metal, but my favorites are Prostitute Disfigurement and Aborted. The new Deicide album is also very good.

I only like a few death metal bands, but the ones I do I LOVE. including:

- Arch Enemy
- Amon Amarth
- A little bit of Death
- Slayer (I'm iffy about slayer. The lyrics are clearly deat metal, but the sound is more thrash in my opinion).

Branching out a bit, I like the black metal bands Dimmu Borgir and 2 Cradle Of Filth albums (nymphetamine and damnation and a day). Plus I love Dark Tranquillity who are often referred to as "melodic death metal", but I think that's a bullshit term, just "gothenberg" works fine. Simply having the vocals doesn't make something death metal.
