Crystals
Remember, they aren't "crystals" or "pollen," they're correctly referred to as "trichromes." The quality of herb can be determined by look, amount of trichs, ect. however, what many people don't realize is a good amount of the THC is in the actual plant matter that the buds consist of. That's why if you grind your weed in a keif collecter, you can still get high, because it's only taking the outside trichs off.
Trich- is a prefix meaning "hair," and chrome generally means colored, or crystal. The word "trichrome" essentially tells us that the actual trichromes are manufactured by the tiny colored hairs on the bud, thus why many times, colored hair on the bud (in particular red or orange) mean it has a higher concentration of trichromes.
Trichromes, although they resemble 'crystals,' are actually a byproduct of the resinous glands of the female bud, which when developed and mature, resemble crystals (but they aren't TRUE crystals, as they are not halides [a salt and metal combo, like table salt])Purple Banana Reviewed by Purple Banana on . Crystals Is it normal for weed to not have crystals? I think I might've gotten weed with kief on it once or twice. Do they usually fall off if they aren't fresh? Rating: 5
