New Job/Interview
I'm a student applying for an internship. At the bottom of the extremely long application, there's a note that says that if an offer of employment is made to me, it is conditioned on a urinalysis for both legal and illegal drugs.
My interview is on Tuesday, and at the moment, I'm the only applicant for the position. They've expressed their excitement at "getting me started as soon as possible", even though I have yet to even interview. I've made a very good impression thus far. After Tuesday, I'll be going out of town until the 28th.
Where my boyfriend works, he also signed a similar statement, but has never been tested, not even upon hire. How common is that? What percentage of places that claim to require a drug test actually do?
What are the odds that they'll usher me straight to a testing facility right after my interview on Tuesday? Is that a common practice, or is it more usual to have an interview, and then be tested later on down the road?
I haven't had anything to smoke since Wednesday. Before then, I've been in a consistant habit of about a pipe full a day for several years (low-mid grade mostly recently). I am female, about 5'10", weight about 150... so, I'm lean, with a pretty good metabolism. I've also purchased a detoxifier to take tomorrow just in case containing Uva Ursi, Dandelion, Siberian Gensing, Echinacea angustifolia, Milk Thistle, Red Clover, and Hydrangea.
How worried do I really need to be? I've never been tested before, so I'm kinda' freaking out a little bit. Any insight into the above questions would be most helpful. Thanks so much.greendove Reviewed by greendove on . New Job/Interview I'm a student applying for an internship. If it has that disclaimer at the bottom then I would say your chances of being tested are greater than not being tested. Another popular disclaimer leading to drug tests is "drug free workplace." Those herbs might actually detoxify your body of other stuff but there is no hard scientific proof that they help remove THC metabolites. That is going to be a total waste of money. The kidneys are the rate limiting step and there is no way to increase the filtration rate of your kidneys. Detox drinks are a waste too. They are usually a bunch of vitamins and fiber and food coloring for 35-50 bucks. Buy some multivitamins and a bottle of Metamucil instead and save some money if you really feel like getting a detox drink. Save you money and read the dilution thread and substitution thread. I recommend subbing. If it is a pre-employment test you will probably (90-95%) not be watched. If you go with dilution, use the money saved from the detox kit and buy a couple of home drug testing kits.

Well... I haven't seen anyone address this previously... probably a rather ignorant question. If they look at urine's color to decide whether or not it's diluted, then what about a tad of food coloring? Has anyone tried this?

Sorry to double-post... I know, I'm terrible! But... How many folks out there have gotten tested on the day of their interview? Is this common?

You can't fail on color. Any thing suspicious must be confirmed by lab testing and results. Validity testing usually includes specific gravity, pH, sometimes creatinine clearance, and tests for additives. Having a yellow color is not one of them. Your urine can be clear as bottled water and pass all validity testing or it can be day glow yellow and fail validity testing. Don't start adding food coloring to your urine. That is more harm than good.

So... I went in for the interview today. Everything went swimmingly. I managed to weasel my way out of a test for today, managed to re-schedule it for when we got back from vacation around Jan. 2nd/3rd-ish. So, I've at least got a little more time.
I'm wanting to buy some fake urine to smuggle into the drug test. What's the best brand to use? What are my odds of being "watched" for a pre-employment screen? If I am watched, I would like the chance of going al-natural as a sort of back-up plan. At the point of the test, it will be 20 days clean...
Just so you don't have to scroll up... I'm female, 5'10", ~150 lbs, and up until the stop date, I was at about a pipe full a day for several years. Thanks much.

They are all pretty much created equal but I like Quick Fix. Good company, good container to use during testing, good storage life.
