I'm a guy in that range, and one thing is make sure you have a wide range of friends. You don't have to be popular, but your best bet is to just get to know alot of people, and help them get to know you. Also, some girls just aren't gonna like you for one reason or another. That'll always be the case you just have to deal and try to get to know the ones that do like you better.

However, I really need to follow my own advice more. My problem is I have alot of casual friends, but I'm a quiet, kinda nerdy (decent looks though) guy around people I don't know well. However, I seem to get really sociable and funny when I'm with good friends.

Oh, another thing is make sure that people don't think you're going out with someone if you aren't. I have alot of friends who are girls, and almost everyone who didn't know me well thought I was going out with some of them. So yea. . .
