Regarding STDs and STIs in the porn industry, they do happen there just like they do anyplace else, probably at far greater levels than you can imagine since porn work involves so many partners and so much sleaze. Legitimate employers, producers and production companies test people and make sure theyâ??re healthy. But if you think that all porn producers in the world are legitimate folks whoâ??re working hard to make sure their employees are healthy, you donâ??t know much about that industry. Itâ??s one that preys on young people, and ethics and employee health donâ??t rank highly in their concerns.

As I look back on what you originally wrote, I may be wrong about your motivation being ego-driven. You donâ??t have the same â??Iâ??m going to be Godâ??s gift to pornâ?� tone that some of our previous porn-ambitious posters have had. Still, I know there are a lot of young men who aspire to go into the industry because they think their bodies are going to be the be-all and end-all that rockets them to the pinnacle of porn success. Just realize that itâ??s not like that for most people. Like I said before, the ones who survive to tell about having worked in that industry (those who donâ??t die of suicide, STDs or drug overdosesâ??do some reading, Iâ??m telling you the truth here) do not tell happy tales. My guess is that itâ??s an industryâ??like prostitutionâ??that doesnâ??t generally beckon to happy, healthy, emotionally whole people to begin with.

As far as your being in the 1/4 of the industry that isn't gay, good luck with that. A job is a job, and that'd be a job. You'd be expected to do what was asked of you.

Yeah, i definately don't think i'm "god's" gift to women or the porn industry. While i'm sure that a lot of what you say about the industry is true i think there are a lot of misconceptions about it also. So, i don't judge until i've had experiance or met some people who have actually been in it. I'm merely seeking a satisfying job which i will actually enjoy. Right now whenever i'm at work, at a supermarket, either on tills or forced to do repetitive manual labour *sigh* I always think of quitting. It's really stressful. I know work isn't easy and i do everything that is asked of me. I'm not going to quit but it's got me thinking that I want to do something that will make me happy. I want a job that i truely want to go to. I don't want to be living the unexamined life in a quest for survival. You make a good point about wife and kids but i really doubt i would have a family while being in the porn industry. I'm thinking of being in it for a little while and then moving on. Right now i'm just typing, these are all ideas, whether i follow through or not is the predicament. But, i'm up for giving it a go.

I gotten an offer to do a porno a while ago. Basically what they wanted me to do was try out, and jack off in front of a camera for $1000 and paid expenses for my trip down there. If they liked what I see, they would offer various jobs, straight or gay.

I turned it down after learning little things about the industry. It sounds nasty, and I'm not comfortable blowing a load in front of a couple of men. No thanks.

Being in porn I think is desirable for a lot of people. The thought of it stimulates the exhibitionist within us all, not to mention it can be a huge ego boost. The 2 reasons I wouldn't do it is 1)Risk of catching a disease, and 2)Not wanting people I know to see me 'doin it'. I have considered applying to pose in playboy though- because it is quite tasteful in my opinion, and I wouldn't be ashamed or embarrassed if people knew about me posing nude. I really enjoy nude photography- and I know playboy isn't really that 'artistic' or anything, but I think it would still be col.
