We are hoping to draw the largest number of anti-prohibitionists to our cause as possible, but we need the help of every individual to do so.
We are on the verge of another federal elction here in Canada. It is widely expected(and anticipated) that our right wing government will fall early in the new year on a vote of non-confidence, introduced by the Bloc Quebec.
I am an activist in the region of Ontario, Canada who has actively promoted the usage of legal pot for many reasons, and for many years,but really the preeminent one is to reduce the criminal enforcement of marijuana, or to see pot just plain old legalized again here in Canada.
Marijuana prohibition is silly at best. We have incarcerated thousands upon thousands of persons for this benign behaviour.
The laws of the land are backed with violence, lies and deceit. Our previous federal governments have recognized that the law is archaic, costly and of negative economic impact, meaning the law costs more to maintain than what it is worth. Several have even openly discussed the legal ramifications of legal weed, spending millions on commissioned reports and strategems.
In Canada the law is applied unevenly. In many jurisdictions they will seize your pot, but not charge you. This behaviour is illegal(although we all would rather be not charged), and by illegal I mean it is incorrect of law enforcement to seize property without cataloguing it under the Canada Evidence Act.
By this virtue, the police have become the judge and jury and apply the law with inequal ineptitudes.
So folks...come on out and support the Pot Guys, field candidates, donate a few bucks or a few hours, and let's all see if we can put together a viable alternative to this prohibition crap.
We will be handing out FREE MARIJUANA PARTY MEMBERSHIPS until the end of the year as a gift to all the people who voted in the last 2 fed4eral elections for me!
