The beams were probably melted and weakened. The beams themselves didn't "collapse" until the weight caused everything to go.

This is because they were in air-conditioned offices, and probably not close to the beams or the fire(s). They likely knew that that fires were approaching quickly, though.

In order for the heat to cause the steel to melt the heat would of have to had a source of to sustain the temps it would take.

The jet fuel took care of that. Those planes were fully loaded.

Those buildings , along with building number 7 (across the street) fell at the speed of gravity, with nothing stopping the fall, which leads me to believe that explosives were used. Ribits being bown out , building falls at speed of gravity, ker plunk/.dai*ma:stoned:[/

I worked in the Trade Center towers for several years. A good wind would cause them to sway, and you could often feel this in the elevators. There were not a stable as the buildings that most people are accustomed to.
