How is my grow doing ?

Hey fellow growers, this is my first time doin hydro and i am a little unsure about the present condition of my plants 3 of which are northern lights and the other Ice. The ice plant which is on the right to the rear seems to be doin quite nice, however the two i am most worried about are the ones on the left which i think are showing signs of nitrogen def, Sorry for the crappy pics but my phone was all i had available to me. the leaves seem pale and dry not to mention a bit droopy . the dark pic you can see browning from the centre of the leave outwards which is an isolated leaf and no others are like this at the moment. the new growth coming through is nice and green but has slight tinges of yellowing on the tips. i have them on 18/6 under 400w hps , nutes are 3/4 strength aqua flakes , PH is 6.2 -- 6.3 . I am using liquid silicon for ph up and acid for down temp is around 34 degrees FH and humidity between 30 - 60 % i also use a small thermostatic heater to keep the temp stable during dark as i grow in my loft and cold is a problem here in scotland. the temp normally sits around 15 degrees FH during dark , i was thinking the dry air could be contributing to the dry leaves but its only programmed to come on if the temp gets to low so i am unsure about that theory. any ways guys i hope you can shed a little light on this, cheers

everything sounds ok....except for the fact the poor wee things are freezing their asses off....hard to see from the pics wot type of system u r using....if using a recirculating set-up, the nutes need to at about 28 deg. C (about 80 F or thereabouts) giving them a feed every hour for 15 min when the light is on will help keep the roots warm....they are also getting a bit tall, you had better do something about that, either tipping(topping) or tying the tops over (LST)....how close are they to the light(s) ?? with 400's you can get them fairly close....about 40cm (16") or so....I'd probably also think about insulating the grow room as best I could....and go full strength with the nutes....& make sure they are flushed well with warm water once a week....but definitely try to get them warmer.... :greenthumb:
good luck with yer grow dude....:stoned:

thanks for that advice slayer, the system is an NFT , i aint got the pump on a timer so i will rectify that asap , ive just been adjusting the speed flow. the light is less than a foot away from the babies. I agree they are a bit tall and was gonna take clones last night but as its my first grow i want to get the plants looking a bit better. the label on my nutes are not very informative and the only dilution info it gives you is 1ltre nutes - 250 ltres water.

i am not 100% sure but would i be right in saying that if i broke it down to man siz e proportions the dose would be 1ml - 2.5 ltres water. please correct me if im wrong.

I think it may be more like 1ml. nutes to 250ml. of water, therefore 4ml. per L is the dilution rate. :greenthumb: I would round it off a bit to 5ml. per L. don't worry, they can handle a fair bit of feeding....they will tell you if you are over-feeding them....but I reckon you'll be fine using it at 5ml./L. the tops of those plants would make good cuttings....I got Scot blood laddy, I don't mind helping out a fellow grower from the homeland....

How is my grow doing ?

The bairns are looking great now, a good feed was what they were needing, the poor buggers were starving. After all that worry ive just newly purchased a truncheon. at the moment my ppm is 850 , i know i can bump up the feed now but i am not sure about how far i can push it so any more of the board members fancy helping me out that would be great. Help ive received so far has been tremendous and i will take more pics tonite once i cut some clones.

    Peace 2Combs out.
