I smoked for 14 years, about 1 1/2 packs per day, then I quit with a buddy. You have to do it with a buddy or a group, so they can talk you out of smoking when you are ready to light up. I also quit drinking, and used the buddy/group system to fight off the obsession to drink. It worked for me- I didn't have another cigarette for another ten years, and I haven't had a drink since then, 22 years ago. But after not smoking cigs for ten years I thought I could smoke a few with friends and I got addicted all over again- I was buying packs, shit! So I then did the nicorette route, and I didn't smoke but boy I needed the gum. So I had to quit it- I thankfully haven't had a cigarette in years, and somebody kick me if I decide to try it ever again. It is such a crappy drug! I just smoke or vaporize weed.

Anyway, anyone can quit, you just have to work hard at it for awhile. It gets easier with time. I don't crave cigarettes anymore, and that is a great feeling not to have!
