    Finals week

My finals are next week. They are already kicking my ass. Sooooooo hard!! I can't wait for this semester to be over.
misspotn Reviewed by misspotn on . Finals week For those of you in college, it's finals week for most of us. I just finished my last final. And all I have to say is HELL YEAH! I can't wait to go home. The one thing I miss at home is my dog... Anyone else miss their dog? Rating: 5

One more test Friday morning, and then I'm on winter break for nearly four weeks!
    So jealous.

I feel like the med and vet students have it easier than we do. It was that way at my old school too.

I only get two and a half weeks off.

    BUT I FINISH TOMORROW MORNING!

    WOOOOOOO!

Just finished my last final... dammit it was traumatic.

    Whatever.

Next up: do some boring stuff.
After that: go home and hit the premium vegetation I just bought.
And then: do some more boring stuff.

I had my last test this morning. Medical ethics. That class is now over. The entire first semester is now over. I don't have to do anythng but rest and relax now for three full weeks. I love having nothing to do. I plan to stay up late and sleep late and go see movies (I want to see the new "Charlotte's Web" movie, but my husband and son, who's also out of school now and is home for the holidays, don't want to see that one) and stay away from malls and shopping centers and just hang out and have fun.

Happy end-of-term to all students everywhere!

Well, I know you'e only Kidding - Of course I have to access their learning, but I do that throughout the semester so the final is only a part of the whole. I have to make sure they learn particular competencies. I give a practice final to some classes; for one, I allow them to use their notes during the final; and for the others, I give them a very clear study sheet the week before- when I was in college, I received none of those aids!
I have high standards throughout the semester, but in the end I usually curve the grades slightly- because the world is "curved" isn't it? So I am pretty merciful. But sometimes kids have to repeat a class, especially remedial English. Some of these kids have very low skills, and it can take more than one semester to sufficiently improve to go on to the next level.
It's like me and math- oh dear!

When I was in college, each semester was an endurance test- I always cried after finals, because I was working on keeping a 4.0 I wasn't smoking then, which really made it harder not to have any pressure release. If I had to go through it again, a smoke at the end of the day would have made it MUCH better. I find it a little harder to learn new material while high, so I save it as a reward. But I like reading papers when I am high- I always picture the student reading it to me, and it's fun.
I'm off to read- grades are due on Monday!!!!
