Yes Irish Americans did send money home for the I.R.A. Alot of these were direct dissendents of emigrants who fled the country during and shortly after the Great Famine and incase you didn't get to study that particular section of Irish History at your school it wasn't just about "Potato Blight"

We have a long history of suffering at the hands of English imposed rule. Irish Catholics were banned from voting, education, owning land, having a profession and practising their religion.
