You need to know the laws in your state and act appropriately... In my mind he was guilty of ignorance...

He sold three, eight ounce bags of weed to an undercover cop. When dealing with that much weed you would want to have a gun with you, its not like he was dealing an eighth or something. If I was carrying that much weed with intention of selling it I would consider using a gun as protection not intention of killing someone though.
