me and 2 friends stumbled upon an outdoor grow-op this summer. well actually, we heard a rumor that one of our friends was growing and we wanted to check it out. we found two groups of three plants in a forest- both of which were surrounded by blackberry bushes. it was pretty sweet. we took a small bud (like less than a bowl's worth), as a souvenir. we for one would never think about stealing plants, and two, the plants were still probably a month from harvest. funny thing is though, after finding those plants we weren't really sure they were our friends (altho we never asked), cause they were way farther away than we would have thought them to be. also, one of the groups of plants we had found were all planted in the ground, whereas the other group was planted in pots. it was very strange... i wonder if there was more than one grower who had planted in that same forest?

But I'll be honest. If I stumbled across plants like that while strolling in the woods (highly unlikely), I would snip & run. In a heartbeat. You betcha. Even though I'd know some poor farmer was gonna be heartbroken. It's a lesson well taught to that farmer:
If you're silly enough to grow buds where I can find them and simply snip & run, I'm silly enough to snag them!

Seriously, I see both sides of this fence clearly. And I would shit were it my plants. (it's why I grow in my closet) But again:

If you're silly enough to grow your buds in a public place where a passerby can find them, this passerby will snip ripe buds in a heartbeat. I can live with madeline calling me a thief for picking flowers in the woods. I'm sure lots of people here could live with that.

Private property is a different story. I won't jump a fence, or break into a glowing shed, or what have you.

Same thing when I go on my salvage runs the day before trash day. If it's in the alley, it's fair game. If it's in the yard, it's outta bounds.
