second hand marijuana smoke linked to ear infections?

I know we have all heard about how second hand smoke from cigarrettes can cause an increase in ear infections for a child. Does anyone know of any correlation between marijuana smoke and ear infections? Can you direct me to a particular study, website, etc?
    Thanks!

Unfortunately, I don't have any information about it but until now, I never even questioned it as a possibility.... Interesting...

second hand marijuana smoke linked to ear infections?

I've never heard or read about the link to ear infections. But I honestly remember one time reading a post someplace here about cannabis smoke being used as a treatment for open wounds and skin infections (because of its antibiotic and anti-inflammatory properties). I think the jury's still out on that treatment because it hasn't been formally tested--and because the little moisture droplets that come our with our breath tend to be loaded with microbes. I'm guessing there's probably not been a formal link yet established between second-hand weed smoke and ear infections, unlike cig smoke, which has had a lot more "market testing."

second hand marijuana smoke linked to ear infections?

Ok, I'm guilty....call me every name in the book....but I used to smoke around my daughter (cigarettes)...she's five now and she's had ear infections every year. Oh the guilt! I was a stupid fuck!
I, on the other hand, was raised around second hand smoke but never had a single ear infection. ~I've since stopped doing this so don't give me too much hell~
While my ex-wife was pregnant she used to smoke a couple a hits of marijuana every now and again. When my daughter was born she slept through the night from day one on. She hardly ever cried and has turned out to be one bright cookie. (She was walking at 9months, talking at 10months and started reading a month after she turned 4years old.)
Please trip them gently, they don\'t like to fall, oh by jingo. There\'s no room for anger, we\'re all very small, oh by jingo. We\'re painting our faces and dressing in thoughts from the skies, paradise, oh by jingo. Won\'t someone invite them? They\'re just taller children, that\'s all, afterall. Some march together and some on their own, quite alone. Others are running, the smaller ones crawl but some sit in silence, they\'re just older children, that\'s all.

second hand marijuana smoke linked to ear infections?

Ear infections are linked to second-hand smoke because the eustachian tubes in childrens ears are much shorter and closer to the nasal passage than adults. As they grow, the tubes curve upwards, thus making it harder for bacteria to infect the whole tube.

The smoke inhaled brings debris into the nasal passage, and into the eustachian tubes, which at a young age, are straight across. This irritates the tubes, and can cause inflammation, thus increased risk for infection.

    Phew!

my daughter got ear infections on a reg basis we went thru every antibiotic that her doc. could think of. when the doc. wanted to put tubes in her ears i did some studying to see if there was alternatives to tubes. there is, go to a chiropractor. if the neck is out of alignment it will cause sinus and ear problems.
second hand smoke isn't good for any child but both my husband and i smoke and have for all of her life, she is now 12, since we took our baby to a chiro, no ear infect no sinus probs NO tubes in her ears. 4yrs of antibiotics 8years of no probs love the chiropractor for fixing it.
