water from the koi pond?
And tap water should be checked before using. A simple, quick and cheap ph test kit is available at most nurseries and is highly recommended. My water tests consistantly above 9.0 and would be a plant killer if it wasn't amended. The same goes for rain water. Not often but sometimes it can be highly acidic, especially if forest fire smoke fed the storm clouds. It's always good to periodically check the water supply.
