    Army Reserves?

I was wondering if anyone has ever thought about the Army or anything related. I always thought the Army was for suckers who couldn't fall into an original line of thought and go out and do things on there own, and just relied on the easy accesible benefits of the army. But I've come to realize that was a real easy opinion to have while living in my moms house, eating her food, and spending some of her money. I'm growing up and have to think about my future and I don't see anything happening as of lately.

Plus after looking at their website I noticed joining up does not just mean going through basic then being shipped off. They have all sorts of jobs. Like the one I want to do: Visual Information Equipment Operator/Maintainer. It's exactly what I wanted to go to college for, but through A.R it can be paid for and then I get health care and shit.

Anyone been in the Army or is looking into it? Have any input?

    Army Reserves?

That sounds boring though. The only reason I would go into reserves is to do that job I listed above.

go Navy man, the Navy is the only one that 'guarantees' the job you sign up for. but whatever you do, get it in writing!

one thing i can tell you though, the military will completely change your life. people, be it on this site or in your day to day life, will tell you not to do it, that the military brainwashes you. don't listen to people that hate on the service. the military is a great choice, granted you will have to give up smoking weed, but i dont think you'll miss it if you do. you'll meet the best friends of your life, and it will open A LOT of doors for you.

So you're telling me if I signed up for a job in the Army they really don't have to give me that job?

    Army Reserves?

I am my own hypocrit I guess.

I don't believe in the army, or any form of militia.

Yet without war the world population would skyrocket.

Go for it man, I don't have the motivation.

yeah screw active duty. i'm slowly starting to realize thats what reserves are probably for huh? to con you into thinking its partime then before you know it you're getting sent off to war. I'm not even going to do reserves i decided. I just want to do what stated above in my first post, but its accesable in the army and that means i would get free training and health care and shit. but i do not wanna get switched out on and end up over seas shooting guns.

    Army Reserves?

My ex-boyfriend joined the army reserves back in late 2002, Oct. I believe. Early 2003, at the start of the war, he got shipped off to Iraq and stayed for 13 months.
