Whens a good time to top a plant?

If done early in life they will double to triple in yield but if done late, shortly before harvest it will have the opposite effect. If those were in my garden I'd let them go as they are.
This is what happens when you FIM top a top 1 week before flowering. 2nd pic is a top from the same plant that wasn't topped. See the difference? If it was your only top on the plant, you'd be better off leaving it un-topped. My plant had like 7 or 8 main tops, and we topped a few and left the others normal to compare yields. Follow the log in my sig i'll let you know how it turns out when i harvest in like 3-4 weeks.

actually, some strains will not reach full yeild UNLESS you top. blueberry is a perfect example...

If you top your plants while flowering, it will stess them and they need time to recover obviously. So ur killing your yeild as your plant recovers, I really find no positive effects to have one large cola or 2 colas the same wieght as the one would be. Its just distrubuting between 2 colas as opposed to one. You think your getting more but i really dont think you are. I dont think you need or have to top to get your full yeild, because put simply i dont belive the people who rate the yeild levels top there plants. Also if grow correctly you should end up with your correct yeild. Blueberry strians dont have a side note telling you to top the plant. Its just my opinion, if you want more yeild Lst your plants. No one wants to stress there plant anymore then needed and cutting it at the top is sure enough going to stunt it at any point in the grow cycle. It just seems like a waste of time, u get to wait around an extra couple weeks cause ur plant needs time to rocover.
