400watt grow

Its costing me too much money to buy my stash because i am a cook and it cost quite a bit more to cook than to smoke. So I concluded its think its time to grow for personal use. I've read a 400watt hps light would be a good choice. Im wondering if I can grow a pound every season or more using higher yielding methods with just this light and possibly some floros for dark spots. I will be using indica strains if that helps any.

Well, indoor the season is 365 days, so 1 lb would be easy

In one grow, a lb off a 400 watter would be really tough, even for someone who has a lot of experience. The goal for a good (not average) grower is usually 1 gram per watt of light - a pound is 456 grams.

If you ran the 400watt light vertical in a cool tube or something, and could grow all around it, it should be a bit easier, but thats a lot of weight for that little light

not sure what you mean by season but it is certainly possible to yield a pound per year, even growing from seed with about 3-4 harvest a year from a 400 hps.
if you have a seperate space or room to keep a mother plant or 2 and a place to start clones you could easily double your yield per year and use a higher yielding method of growing such as scrog or sog using clones where you might get 5-6 harvest per year.
