On Christmas morn a child wakes to find her mother dead
in a pool of scarlet red
with a bullet through her head.

In Israel, a bus explodes because a pious man
thinks his god made a command
to kill the Jews upon his land.

A homeless lady wanders through the streets in solitude.
It's been days since she has chewed
the smallest morsel of some food.

A cancer patient tells his family he is going to die.
He won't live to see July
and it's time to say goodbye.

In Africa, a little girl is tragically deformed,
    her clitoris from body shorn
    in ritual considered norm.

A family dog has rabies so it's being put to sleep,
and it dies without a peep
as the family starts to weep.

A Catholic priest molests a boy and warns him not to say
a single word about the way
the priest mistreated him that day.

A man who's recently divorced has given up all hope.
    With his life he cannot cope;
around his neck he ties a rope.

A soldier tortures enemy combatants in a cell
with a treatment worse than hell,
    taking pleasure as they yell.

What kind of god, what kind of karma lets this sort of thing
    happen every day to bring
    misery and suffering?
I don't write poetry but that was really good. THe imagery really came across well.

This one is called "Beware the Ego"

In this world without meaning are those who pretend
that their lives and their deeds serve some grand cosmic end,
and that they are the center of all that exists
and the fate of the cosmos is right in their fists.

    And to them we're not apes with less hair and big brains;
we're the center of everything there's to explain!
Not just masses of atoms traversing through space,
rather far grander things from a far grander place!

We're just specks on the earth which, I do believe,
is much larger than anything we can conceive,
and that planet's a speck to its star that's a speck
in a universe which is gigantic as heck!

YOULL GOT TO READ THIS< IT is a poem that ive put together over 4 years

i spend my life in a world unknown never knowing of what will go.
i pass my time true and slow as the clock handles tick to and fro,
i look around the room without a care in my mind as i think about life as the time flys by ...i listebn to the sounds that take a visit through my ears as i think about my freinds and i hold back the tears....,,,,,,i think when i sit on the clouds of my mind as i lay down to rest as my thoughts unwind, ,i dream when i sleep about the people who i love as i exit stage right on the wings of a dove,,the beggining of the end of a day begun when i looked out the window at the rising sun,,,,,,the day is of new with my future in view for the lopve is the trust that i shall pursue,,,,,i try to take a step into the world nieve with the air so congested it restricts me to breathe,,,,i reach to the light as i drop to the floor while i gasp for my life at my fate to restore,,,,,,,,life is a flower that has started as a seed that has grown and has bloomed and has withered to a weed,,,,,,no time in this life to recieve what i need to believe its the lead so i bleed to be seen,,,,,i cry in the tears of my joy and my pain as i overcome my greif and i try to be sane,,,always searching for true love in this life that i live getting nearer to the answer that i cant quite grip,,,,ill find what i have looked for in tha end of my days that will gain my satisfaction and help to stop my craze

    I write....

    I am the empty vessel
what has been sent to me
    meets the same fate.
    open
    like an open door
    free like open
    for more ideas
    to give more energy
    luminance of subtle mind
    the innermost consciousness
    age
    like open and free
    for more ideas
    to give more energy
    to fulfill needs
    as a by-product now

and another if I may -

    grey clouds fly by
    glare on my computer screen
    makes it seem
    blinding
    rainbow chaser
    bored
i think i'm allergic to myself
slide this book back on the shelf
    tethered edges worn and weathered
flash of self in mirrors passing
    time flashing glass eyed passerby
    floored
    i think i'm a smurf
    blue boy consuming turf
    space bound cloud hound
    rainbow chaser when it hurts

I love to write! Good stuff everybody! Love it all....yum yum.

not a poem, but a short song i wrote about someone.

    she doesn't mind,
    sleeping on the couch.
    she doesn't care,
    for products in her hair.

    she's so damn beautiful,
    sleeping on the couch,
    she's so damn beautiful,
    breathin in and out.

    and when the tvs on,
    remote is by her side,
can't seem to make up my mind,
what to cook for her tonight.

    and then she wakes up,
    and takes a,
    cigarette from her purse.
    sparking the smoking machine
    what an elegant scene tonight.

    she's so damn beautiful,
    sleeping on the couch,
    she's so damn beautiful,
    breathin in and out.

The pain of solitude is slowly eating at my soul,
tearing me apart and leaving just a gaping hole.
Once I loved mankind but now I simply can't control
the jealousy and hatred that prevents me being whole.

The icy hands of loneliness have grabbed me by the throat.
Though I yell and choke, there is no one taking note.
All I hear is my own echo, distant and remote,
Screaming silently these anguished verses that I wrote.

    Here's something about nothing

"Good Day" Said Mr. America on the intercom
    His efforts becoming increasingly wonton
He stared into a sea of blue
and red and white and yellow too
"It seems that one of you is mistaken
me for the leader I have taken
    into backrooms, derelict streets
and bound his arms and tied his feet
so you and I and we could see
That I am you as you are me."
And through the roar of the crowd below
from the sky a flurry of snow
coated the mobs and angry masses
as they just grumbled and scratched their asses.

Righteous people are the ones who keep from getting caught,
and evil people are the ones whose virtues aren't taught.
For good and evil aren't two exclusive types of mind,
and if we search within us deeply we will surely find
that all of us are capable of acting either way
depending on the circumstances that arise today.
We're all a little evil, and we're all a little good.
We normally, but never always, do the things we should.
That's just the way that people are, it's perfectly okay,
since that's the way that human nature's gonna have to stay.
