Does anybody else here write poetry? Share your work here! Come on, don't be discouraged by the fact that you're probably insane if you're good at poetry. Here's a poem I wrote recently that I call "The Mystery Of Misery":

On Christmas morn a child wakes to find her mother dead
in a pool of scarlet red
with a bullet through her head.

In Israel, a bus explodes because a pious man
thinks his god made a command
to kill the Jews upon his land.

A homeless lady wanders through the streets in solitude.
It's been days since she has chewed
the smallest morsel of some food.

A cancer patient tells his family he is going to die.
He won't live to see July
and it's time to say goodbye.

In Africa, a little girl is tragically deformed,
her clitoris from body shorn
in ritual considered norm.

A family dog has rabies so it's being put to sleep,
and it dies without a peep
as the family starts to weep.

A Catholic priest molests a boy and warns him not to say
a single word about the way
the priest mistreated him that day.

A man who's recently divorced has given up all hope.
With his life he cannot cope;
around his neck he ties a rope.

A soldier tortures enemy combatants in a cell
with a treatment worse than hell,
taking pleasure as they yell.

What kind of god, what kind of karma lets this sort of thing
happen every day to bring
misery and suffering?
