On another forum, someone said "its scientifically proven marijuana kills brain cells" and knowing this is obviously wrong, I posted otherwise, but of course I back my posts up. At first I was like "ugh now I'm gonna have to find a reliable source to prove this moron wrong" but luckily I found a good site right off the bat.

So posts any links you may have that are a good source for FACTS about cannabis, preferably reliable sources.

weed does kill brain cells, but theyre useless cells. Glioma cells just stay in your brain, and dont effect your intelligence at all. they are the only cells that can turn cancerous in your brain. so its good not to have them

I would talk to birdgirl about this glioma cell bit. she educated me quite a bit on the subject a while back for my true weed facts thread i made. search it if you want. but yeah she knows her shit (at least i think it was her haha i havent been on here in forever, i apologize if im wrong)

you have two types of cells in your brain, neurons and glia. neurons transmit nerve impulses using neurotransmitters. glial cells are support cells. they provide nutrition and produce myelin for the neurons. you have about ten times as many glial cells as neurons.
glioma is a cancer caused by a mutation in glial cells. THC has been shown to inhibit growth of these cancer cells. THC has never been shown to cause damage to any healthy brain cells.
