The same reasons my pumpkin pies don't last long after they're made. Additives make producing food goods cheaper to make, last longer and taste fresher. A plant in WA can make some cakes and ship them to NY and they taste and look fresh as the day they were made.

sometimes the additives are used to preserve flavor, like in soft drinks, and candy. sometimes they are used as a preservitive to keep the food fresh while it sits on the shelf. also chemicals made by man are more cost efective to use over natural ingreadents.

Hmm, I really wanted to read those articles. If I use a proxy server in another country I should be able to read them?

Maybe you should try Proxify.com. The simple version is free, and that might get you past the block.

P.S. I would E-mail Mercola - he may not be aware that Splenda is censoring his stuff.

Salt is healthy for you in regular sizes.
It contains Iodine, which prevents Goiters. Considering we use salt every day, it s a quick and easy way to supply our body with iodine.

Bruekelen Advocate that link about the splenda was really interesting, and really goes to show how bad processed food is, no nutritional value ,just chemicals that stimulate taste...
