But in modern society people have sex for pleasure rather than reproduction, and in fact often block the ability to reproduce through contraception.

Similarly, the orgasm is not the goal of sexual activity either. Sex can be an amazing bonding experience between two people that doesn't involve a "race to the finish". Sex can last beyond 30 mins... definately.

I'd say the risk of STD's and pregnancy is more a reflection of the people you're choosing to spend time with, rather than the activity itself.

So is having sex more inborn or chosen thinking? It lasts for about 25-30 minutes, then it is over. Doesnt really sound worth it considering the STD's today and risk of pregnacy.
