Ahh help!
Well, I have RO water now, and I have only added very small nutrients still and some calmag+ at about half the recommended level. They're still doing ok, and I'm happy anyway since I havent smoked in a very long time so anything is going to be nice.
The newest growth looks nice and green and I'm watching closely for any spots to form on the newest growth. I am hoping that the rusty spots were a problem related to my old hard tap water and will clear up.
If it's some sort of mold or something, then I dont know yet what to do exactly.
It is extremely low humidity in this place until my humidifier arrives. It's only like 28%.. I wont get my MH and HPS system until next week. Hopefully I can nurse them along and flower them and take a clone or two and repeat.

kp solves it with her usual benevolent wisdom thank god. Mister E, just guessing but I think your problems probably were related to your old water. RO water plus your CalMag is the way to go. I found that once I did do things according to the way I was directed that everything fell into place beautifully. Every single time I have run into trouble it is because I'm "improving" or changing something (usually trying to get by with....)and not following the directions. This is one of the biggest things I love about hydro as opposed to growing outdoors (I have not tried soil indoors); when I do things EXACTLY the way I was told my plants will grow EXACTLY the way the way I was promised they would. My last harvest (done last week) was 2 and 1/4 oz manicured bud per plant which is plenty for me.

Ahh help!
Mr E if it is mold I have used a product called Serenade garden Disease Control Spray made by Agra Quest that I have had good success with in my outdoor growing--have not had that problem in hydro (cross fingers). It can be used in organic situations if that's what you are working with also. I keep that and some stuff called Dont Bug Me (FoxFarms) around. An extremely wise (although not benevolent like kp) hydo store owner told me if I spray these products on my plants once a week I will not have a problem with mold, fungus or pests. I have not done this religiously because I have not had a problem so far but keep them prominently in the room as voodoo charms.

Sounds good. I may put these into flower already when my HID gets here and chalk it up to a learning experience in fact. Havent decided. As I say, I dont have access to any smoke at all, and it's been years so it would be something nice regardless to me. Plus I read that this strain I'm growing is best flowered early else it'll grow into a tree.
I think I'm close to having all of the supplies that I need now for several grows in the future..
