We all know music is a haven when stoned. But why? Ill listen to shit id never dare of even thinkin about sober just cause I like the beat. I hear the reason is because your senses get heightend but I believe thats bull.

Listenin to my sister bitchin at me stoned is still as annoying sober. Or tryin to keep my eyes open can be hard too :rasta:

And while im at it, why do we get munchies?

I think it's partly because of that hightened awareness you get when your baked. For once your mind isn't racing and you finally get to sit down and appreciate the whole song peice by peice.

yea, it's kindda like meditation, actually.

feels like when im baked, the mind-body chemistry is easily controlled since my mind is so calm, yet so active, ya know heheh
you let go of your body feelings, and just start flying to the music
then the whole show is in your head at that point

and intensely visualizing stuff in your mind (including as many senses as possible) can be just as real on your body than any other experience with open eyes; our senses collect to help process all the information after all...

so if you're stoned as hell, comfortable and start bumpin' beats, you allow your whole being (all senses focusing on the task) to process the information of that music. so the music sounds tight as hell, and you feel it!

Wow! Cool question & thread. I agree with Rebgirl. Its like when your stoned your mind is more conditioned to feel the music, sometimes when your sober you can hear the music but its just background. When your stoned you get in tune with every word, beat and note its like your mind is able to absorb it.

You know I was reading an interesting article yesterday. When you do psyhadelics, do you ever see snakes or worms? Snakes and worms have been a common part in people's psychadelic experiences since the dawn of man. This is regardless of location or education or anything, african tribes men will see the same thing as American businessmen. The common thread has been snakes. Watson came up with the double helix desing while on acid. He said that he saw two snakes coil amongst each other and then extend into infinity and suddenly it all clicked. Does anyone else see worms are see snakes while on drugs? I have, even just on grass.

Thats just the drugs messing with your visual receptors. I'm talking about not just seeing snakes, but hearing and sensing their presence. It's a really cool phenomenom.
